In the "Florida Today" paper there is an acticle stating "Justices postpone Tompkins execution". WHY??? He has been on death row for twenty five years and now he and his free lawyer says that "lethal injection procedures are unconstitutional cruel and unusual punishment because it creates an unnecessary risk of pain. COME ON!!! First of all the supreme court has already ruled that it is a safe procedure. He has had twenty five years to file this motion. He should have been execcuted 24 1/2 years ago with a bullet to the forehead (as he watched). Judges, wake up. Just kill the criminals within months of there crime. Maybe that will deter some crime and save taxpayers LOTS of hard earned money.

All I'm saying that all these people that yell and scream that there is too much of a risk of unnecessary pain need to do a little research. They get 2 shots before the leathal to make them more comfortable. (#2 is actually so they don't squirm as much). I'm all for the suffering, or even shooting them! What I don't understand is why they sterilize the needles first.

Why aren't they just taken out back and shot.
Would save money and time, give them a blindfold and BANG!
Next.

Erock, (if that's your real name), ah yes, let's put them to sleep first before we kill them. Let's sing them a lula-bye as well. What ya kiddin' me? Screw the I.V. and the valium, put the drugs directly in them and watch them squirm. That's how you kill a "wild animal".

One of the injections they give before they give them they leathal injection is a nice big dose of benzodiazepine (think valium). I hardly think that is cruel and unusual punishment. It is a far step up from the days of the electric chairs that would catch people's hair on fire and burn them before they died.
